While summer doesn’t officially start until late June, that doesn’t mean we can’t start getting into the summer spirit early. The Chillin’ & Grillin’ BBQ Festival is on May 30 – June 1st and is a great way to get into a summer mood. Head over to Sand Springs, OK to experience this gathering of BBQ chefs who will be competing for best BBQ. The event will have dozens of teams of cooks who will be showing off their skills at the grills and while they’re competing, you can be eating.
Things to Do in Summer 2019 in Tulsa | Boulder Dash!
Get ready for one of the most exciting and fun races in Oklahoma, the Boulder Dash! This race is on Saturday, June, 22 and goes all day long. On the corner of Boulder and Archer is where the downhill tricycle race will take place. The race is for adults only but the festival will have plenty to do for kids of all ages as well. Teams will be comprised of 3 people each, two pushers and a driver. The race is only part of the fun, the festival also brings lots of fun to summer. Admission is free but racers will need to preregister. Also, if you plan on racing, be sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty or wet in as spectators of the race are encouraged to throw water balloons at the racers.
Things to Do in Summer 2019 in Tulsa | Tulsa Freedom Fest
Tulsa takes Independence day very seriously and there are so many different local events going on in and around Tulsa. The best of them all could very well be Tulsa Freedom Fest. This festival starts early on the Fourth of July with picnics, and so much more. At the end of the day, when it gets dark enough, fireworks bring light to the night as families celebrate the freedom our country has fought to keep. Freedom Fest will be found at River West Festival Park.
Things to Do in Summer 2019 in Tulsa | 20th Annual Boys & Girls Charity Golf Tournament
Everyone is invited to hit the greens for charity at the 20th Annual Boys & Girls Charity Golf Tournament. Proceeds from this event go towards the Boys & Girls Clubs in Tulsa. This event takes place at the Tulsa Country Club where one of the best golf courses in Tulsa can be found. The event is on July, 15 from 8 AM until 5 PM.
Things to Do in Summer 2019 in Tulsa | Tulsa Taller 5K and Family Fun Run
Welcome, to the first annual Tulsa Taller 5K and Fun Run. This event is a charity event that benefits assistance in health care. Even if you aren’t a runner, you’re invited to walk the route as well. Adult participants must register for the race and children under 12 years of age are free. The event will also have a bit of a festival with food trucks, bounce houses, music, and so much more. Pets are welcome as long as they’re on leashes, and strollers are allowed as well. The event is on August 10, 2019, from 6 pm until 9 pm with a registration fee of $30 at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America.
